De Costa Brava -met zijn totale lengte van praktisch 100 km- loopt van Blanes tot Port Bou aan de Franse grens. Dit maakt de Costa Brava een gewilde vakantieregio voor auto-vakantiegangers. In het Zuiden van de Costa Brava ligt het district La Selva, tussen de plaatsen Blanes en Palamos. Alle Club Villamar villa's zijn gelegen in dit district.
Ook de Romeinen hadden al door dat het goed vertoeven is aan de 'Ruige Kust'. In verschillende vissersdorpjes vind je overblijfselen uit deze tijd, met als pronkstuk de burcht van Tossa de Mar. De zachtheid van het klimaat (in de winter komt de temperatuur zelden onder nul graden en in de zomer boven de 30 graden) maakt het mogelijk om hier het hele jaar te genieten van deze buitengewoon mooie rotsachtige kust en diverse fijne zandstranden. Samen met het vriendelijke karakter van de lokale bevolking, de rijke historische cultuur, prachtige begroeiingen en gevarieerde keuken, maken de Costa Brava tot een vakantie regio die veel te bieden heeft. Aangetrokken tot deze rijkdommen hebben door de jaren heen ook beroemdheden der beeldende kunst en letteren hier op verschillende plekjes rust en vrede gevonden.
